SENER´s 50th Anniversary and Torresol Energy
2006
SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas celebrated its 50th anniversary with a series of commemorative events at all its headquarters.
Also in 2006 SENER launched its SENER Mexico Division, with the headquarters in Mexico City.
In September 2006, SENER opened an office in Okayama, Japan.
2007
In January 2007 SENER inaugurated its SENER Poland Division, based in Warsaw.
In July 2007 SENER acquired 40% of the Mexican engineering company III, S.A. de C.V., with an option to purchase the remaining shares in 2010, thereby consolidating its presence in the North American market.
2008
In March 2008 SENER Grupo de Ingeniería founded Torresol Energy, a joint initiative between SENER (60% stockholding) and MASDAR (40% stockholding and the company for the development of renewable energies launched by the investment company belonging to the Abu Dhabi Emirate, MUBADALA Development Company). Torresol Energy has been set up with the objective to become the world’s leader in the sector and with the aim of promoting the development and exploitation of large and cost efficient solarthermal energy plants around the world, particularly in the so-called “sun-belt': Southern Europe, Northern Africa, the Middle-East and Southwest USA.
In June 2008 SENER opened its offices in San Francisco (EE UU), in Algiers and Seville.
In September 2008 SENER purchased 49% of the Portuguese engineering company ENGIVIA, with the goal to broaden its capacities in the Portuguese market.
2009
In June , SENER opened an office in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
In October , SENER took over the Instrumentation and Systems Division of the NTE, S.A. company.
